- Establishing a Therapeutic Alliance
- Description:
- This session is aimed at a specialist audience: trainee and practising counsellors. It explains what it means to establish a therapeutic alliance during counselling with children and young people. It then moves on to examine how you can actively create and enhance this process in a practical setting using case examples. Blocks to the therapeutic alliance development are discussed and ways of monitoring these in your own practice are proposed. Video examples of counselling practice provide an opportunity to utilise a process measurement tool and to use critical observation and reflection skills.
