- This session is aimed at a specialist audience: trainee and practising counsellors. It examines the process of emotional expression in children and young people, and describes and illustrates a range of activities that can be used with children and young people to facilitate this. The session also shows how emotional expression work with children and young people differs to that with adult clients, identifies some of the main factors that influence clients' engagement with emotion, and discusses when it may be counter-productive to encourage a client to engage in emotional expression.
